John Lyday

APR, Fellow PRSA, has been a member of JJ&W’s of counsel network for 15 years and has private and public sector experience, including directing communications for a Fortune 500 company, a $3.4B community bank, a statewide professional association, a county government and two large school districts.

As a PR professional, John has worked with the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Chicago Tribune and many other regional and local newspapers. On the broadcast side, John has worked with CBS Evening News, CNN and numerous radio and TV stations and has served as a spokesperson for a wide variety of companies and organizations.

John has extensive experience in PR planning and analysis including communications audits; message development and a variety of social media platforms. He is a frequent speaker for local, state and national organizations on communications and public relations topics.

John is an accredited member of PRSA (Public Relations Society of America) and a member of PRSA’s College of Fellows, an honorary organization of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). ┬áHe graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and has taken Master’s level public relations courses through Illinois State University. He is the 2017 President-Elect of the Central Illinois Chapter of PRSA, a Past President of the Suburban Chicago Chapter of PRSA (from which he received a Lifetime Achievement award), a Past President of the Illinois Chapter of the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) and a Past Regional Vice President of NSPRA.
